Background: Born from a lowly strumpet, Raziel lived as a street urchin well into his adolescence til he snuck onboard a smuggler’s trading ship from a failed bread stealing venture. Rather than be cast out into the open sea, the pirates and vagabonds onboard took a liking to him after smashing the face in on one of their own. He was taught how to fish, how to fight, and how to survive relying only on himself and his wits. The ship’s captain saw great potential in Raziel and made him into one of his more favored scouts and enforcers on their many port visits. Procuring and completing contracts from many customers and rival smugglers. As he grew, his skills and reckless abandon grew with him. It wasn’t until one day, the crew of the pirate vessel had received an order to fill a shipment of slaves. There, he saw his own mother as part of the stock. Angered by the sight of the man,who he called captain, whipping and moving the slaves, including his own mother, into the ship’s haul, Raziel lost control and proceeded to cull the men he called brothers. One by one he massacred the men of the ship, even til the hilt of his sword was bent and worn… even without a weapon he resorted to using his own natural armament… his teeth. After making short work of the crew, he had one more target in his sights, the captain. He managed to latch onto his jugular and with a quick motion, tore out trachea and throat alike. In a gargled mangled tone that could only be described as a semi submerged duck fart, the pirate captain muttered, “you jagged tooth scum… the company will find you… and we will kill you… run…” Raziel freed the slaves but there was no welcomed embrace or gratitude, there was nothing but disgust and fear even from his own flesh and blood. And with that… Raziel fled to the wildlands, avoiding others, living alone, and relying on only himself… til one day… a woman found him by a river…
